I'm Cindy Smith, aspiring writer of travel mysteries and lover of all things nature. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my
husband, Greg (who is very supportive in all the important ways, in spite of being a recalcitrant traveler), and two Zhu Zhu Pet hamsters, Nugget and Num Nums.
When I was little, I wanted to be a veterinarian. Although that didn't work out, I've always loved animals and have shared my life with all kinds of pets, from the traditional cats and dogs to lizards and rats.
Somewhere around the middle ages (ours, not the world's), my husband and I developed allergies, and pets were no longer and option. That didn't stop me from adding animals to my novel, though. The intrepid Beebee and Connie meet up with a large horny-toad, marvel at stampeding wild horses, and develop a relationship with a wiry little dog named Merlin.
I work in a research laboratory at Stanford University,
but hope to retire in a couple of years and devote more time to
writing, possibly in a travel trailer touring the USA. Hopefully, we
won't find any bodies!
